Ecosystem Services and the Sea
The University of Liverpool have produced a resource pack to help people who live and work in the Celtic Seas region develop an understanding of the many natural services that the sea provides.
The resource pack features materials on ecosystem services, written and presented in a way that can be easily understood by people without a marine or environmental background. It is designed to help people think about what contribution the sea makes to their lives. By getting a better idea of what services they get from the sea they can then engage in in ecosystem based planning and management of their marine and coastal areas.
The pack contains: summary information on the ecosystem services concept; guidance on the use of ecosystem services in different planning and management situations; case study examples, materials that can be used in workshops.
